I believe that the foundation of a strong therapeutic relationship relies on vulnerability, trust, and a sense of safety. It is an honor to be able to create that space together. Healing is not a solitary experience, and my goal is always to walk alongside you throughout the ever-fluctuating ups and downs of life.
My approach to clinical work is founded in feminist theory, and I continue to work on decolonizing the modalities I employ to develop a therapeutic approach that best fits not only the work we do together, but the world around us. These modalities include Psychodynamic, Relational-Cultural theory, Internal Family Systems, and queer theory.
My areas of interest and experience include trauma, PTSD, and dissociation; religious deconstruction; sexuality, gender exploration; and stress and anxiety. To be an effective social worker and therapist, I prioritize my own self-reflection. I strive to have an openness to growth and change within my own practice and flexibility in my approaches.
Throughout my work with each client, I work closely with my clinical supervisor Emma Coate, LCSW, to make sure you are receiving the care you need and deserve.
