What is Therapy?

Lake Park Counseling is a psychotherapy practice that offers individual, couples, and family therapy.  If you're new to therapy, you may seek out a consultation if you're eperiencing feelings of depression, increased anxiety, difficulty managing day to day stress. 

Or you may want to seek out therapy to build a stronger relationship with yourself! Therapy is a great, save place to become more self aware, mindful, and intentional about your sense of self, your idenitity, your relaltionships, and more.

What is Individual Psychotherapy?

Individual counseling includes sessions for adolescents, young adults, and adults (ages 14 and up).  In the initial intake session, our therapists will offer guidance and answer any questions about how therapy works and discuss clinical style and orientation, confidentiality, the client/therapist relationship, and will review intake documents, as needed. The remainder of the session will be devoted to gaining insight into each client's past history and background and identifying current issues and concerns.  Together you will begin to formulate a treatment plan to help guide subsequent sessions.  

What is Couples and Family Counseling?

Couples counseling includes two partners seeking support with a variety of issues including but not limited to: healthier conflict resolution, enhancing functional communication, increasing intimacy and empathy within the relationship, coping with infidelity, coping with infertility, and any other issues brought into therapy.  

Family counseling includes any family system (nuclear, of origin, traditional or non-traditional) seeking supports for a variety of issues including but not limited to: healthier or more functional conflict resolution, enhancing communication, managing divorce or separation, adoption, or any other issues brought into therapy.
