Jamie McMillin, LSW
He/Him

The decision to begin therapy, or start with a new therapist, can be intimidating. This is why, in my work with adults, adolescents and couples, my top priority is building a safe and welcoming environment in which to explore feelings, thoughts, and experiences, while building a collaborative and trusting relationship. I believe this space of trust will be the foundation to any work we do together.

I understand that everyone is different, and we don’t all need the same thing. I will work to adjust my therapeutic approach to best fit your needs. Starting from your strengths, we will work together to empower you to develop goals and make decisions to support them.

My areas of interest and experience include anxiety, depression, trauma, young adult transitions, navigating relationships, family dynamics, and couples therapy. Guided by your needs, I use a variety of techniques including psychodynamic therapy, CBT, DBT (including mindfulness and meditation), and ACT. In my work with couples, informed by Gottman theory and Imago techniques, I focus on attachment, improving communication, and deepening bonds.

I practice unconditional positive regard towards all clients. Anybody considering working with me should know that I am LGBTQIA+ aligned, and I work from a feminist, anti-racist and culturally informed framework.
